How to Create glb File

glb is a 3D model file format that can be used for WebGL, OpenGL, and other systems. The VRM is based on this glb.

In the Vket we are using this glb and VRM to set the models in the browser venue VketCloud.

Here, we will explain the glb for your prospective Web Submission of your 3D models like accessories. For Humanoid avatar, please refer to How to Create VRM File.

What is it used for?

glb is widely used for various modeling tools and browser-based 3D services.

You may use the file as model data or others on some VRSNS.

Once you turn your model into glb, you may utilize the model for many things other than VketMall-Proto Web Submission.

How to create glb file

As glb is supported by several modeling tools, you may create the file even without using Unity.

In this article we take Blender 2.9 series for example to export as glb.

*Note that the Blender has built-in standard support for glb export for versions later than 2.8 series.

1. Import the model data to the Blender and select [file] > [export] > [glTF 2.0 (.glb/.gltf)].

gltf

2. You will see Blender file preview. Select [format] > [glTF Binary (.glb)] on the top right corner.

gltf

3. Select the folder you want to place the file and export by clicking Export glTF 2.0

Basically the glb file is complete now!
